Prep School is our after-school cooking series designed to build real, practical kitchen skills in a small group setting. This six-week, small-group program is skills-focused designed to teach kids real-life kitchen confidence, one skill at a time.
With a maximum of 12 students, Prep School offers personalized guidance, plenty of time to practice, and the space to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again. Perfect for kids who want to do more in the kitchen—and actually know how.
Your child can join at any point, even if you haven’t done previous sessions. Upcoming session topics are listed here:
Session 2 (Nov & Dec 2025): Cooking with Heat 1.0 [Microwaving, Toasting, Griddling, and Melting].
Session 3 (Jan & Feb 2026): Prep Skills! Think peeling, shredding, chopping, and early knife skills for food and meal prep.
Session 4 (March & April 2026): Cooking with Heat 2.0 [Hot water, stove top, and oven focus!]
Looking for a delightful, hands-on way to spend a day off from school? At Happy Place Cooking Space's Day off of School Class, kids ages 5–12 will cook, taste, and learn! Together we’ll whip up 2-3 fun and seasonal recipes—all while practicing real kitchen skills like measuring, mixing, chopping and working as a team. By the end of the class, your child will head home proud of their creations and excited to share what they’ve learned.
