kids programs

In this playful, one-hour drop-off class, preschoolers become kitchen helpers with real responsibilities! Each week, our Happy Helpers will explore age-appropriate cooking skills—stirring, spreading, scooping, chopping (with safe tools), and more—while preparing seasonal, nourishing recipes they’ll be proud to share.

This is a drop-off class for ages 3-5!

This class series runs for 6 weeks. Sign up below!

Happy Place Cooking Space is thrilled to partner with Development Therapy to offer Food Explorers, a playful six-week course for children ages 2–5. Through sensory-based exploration—using sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste—kids will engage with a variety of foods in fun, developmentally appropriate ways. Designed for children with selective eating, food aversions, or other eating challenges, Food Explorers provides gentle, consistent exposure to new textures and flavors in a positive, engaging, and low-pressure environment.

This series runs for six weeks starting November 4, 2025.

Come learn more about us, tour the kitchen, meet the instructors, and see firsthand how we plan to run this program on Tuesday, October 14. Children are welcome! Registration is required. Please register below.

Prep School is our after-school cooking series designed to build real, practical kitchen skills in a small group setting. This six-week, small-group program is skills-focused designed to teach kids real-life kitchen confidence, one skill at a time.

With a maximum of 12 students, Prep School offers personalized guidance, plenty of time to practice, and the space to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again. Perfect for kids who want to do more in the kitchen—and actually know how.

  • Session 1 Prep School is Mixing, Measuring, and Mastering Recipes. This session runs for six weeks in September and October.

  • Session 2 Prep School is Cooking with Heat 1.0 [Microwaving, Toasting, Griddling, and Melting]. This session runs for six weeks in November and December.

Looking for a delightful, hands-on way to spend a day off from school? At Happy Place Cooking Space's Day off of School Class, kids ages 5–12 will cook, taste, and learn! By the end of the class, your child will head home proud of their creations and excited to share what they’ve learned.
